Minnesota Learning Commons
Helps students, educators, advisors, and parents find their way in online public education. The site is a collaboration of the Minnesota Department of Education, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and the University of Minnesota.

Minnesota Online Learning Alliance (MNOLA)
Fosters student learning by promoting and supporting the viability of quality K-12 online programs in Minnesota.

National Resources

The Digital Learning Department
Works to improve access to educational opportunities and learning resources. Provides information, guidance, and technical assistance in the areas of Online Learning, Alternative Learning, and Open Educational Resources. Supports school districts, families, and course providers serving Washington State's K-12 students.

Guide to Teaching Online Courses
Provides an overview of an effective online education system. It focuses on the skills teachers need to teach effectively online, the professional development necessary to acquire those skills, and the models schools need to evaluate to improve online teaching.

Late Nite Labs
Allows students to carry out virtual hands-on chemistry experiments, either as pre-lab exercises or as a major part of distance-education courses. The simulator uses animations and 3D graphics. It is designed specifically for the virtual high school and college institutions.

Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT)
Links to online learning materials. Provides annotations such as peer reviews and assignments. It is designed primarily for faculty and college students.

The NROC Project (NROC)
Lists high-quality online courses for students and faculty in higher education, high school, and Advanced Placement.

North American Council for Online Learning (NACOL)
Increases educational opportunities and enhance learning by providing collegial expertise and leadership in K-12 online teaching and learning.

Rubric for Online Instruction (ROI)
Answers the question: "What does a high quality online course look like?" Intended for instructors and instructional designers to learn more about the rubric and be able to view examples of exemplary courses.
