Credit for Prior Learning
Colleges can use Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) programs (also known as "Prior Learning Assessments" or PLA) to contribute to many of their goals — increasing rates of retention and completion, serving adult audiences well, serving military veterans, decreasing costs for some students, and others. But it can be tough to figure out how to offer Credit for Prior Learning. Colleges can use these documents to help explore many of the component issues.

Career Exploration and Student Success Toolkit
The Career Exploration and Student Success Toolkit helps counselors and advisers in colleges and universities to guide current and prospective students through a career and education planning process. The Toolkit can be used for individual advising or in classroom and workshop settings. The Toolkit helps students and job seekers learn more about themselves, and find careers that would be a good match for them. The resources in the Toolkit help adult college students, especially those in health care programs, plan their career and education, be successful as students, and learn techniques to find a job.
Workforce Program Planning Tools
The Academic Programs unit within Minnesota State Colleges and Universities offers several workforce development tools and resources for academic advisers and planners. One of these resources is LMIwise, an online tool that delivers regional supply and demand information for academic program planning and review.
