Minnesota's Dislocated Worker Program

If you were part of a large layoff or your company downsized, you may be eligible for career development, job search, and other services.

Workers who lose a job may need some help returning to work. Minnesota's Dislocated Worker program offers free services to help individuals find a new job by taking the stress and uncertainty out of the process. Services are tailored to address an individual's specific needs. You may be eligible for this program if you are:

  • out of work through no fault of your own
  • eligible for Unemployment Insurance
  • unlikely to return to your previous occupation or industry

Fact sheets are available in English, Hmong, and Spanish. You can also find videos, links to unemployment insurance information, and dislocated worker service providers.

If you believe that foreign competition has been a factor in losing your job (or substantially reduced hours), you may be eligible for additional benefits under the Trade Adjustment Act.
