Course: BLS for Healthcare Providers | |

This course follows American Heart Association guidelines and is designated to teach the skills of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for victims of all ages including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, use of oxygen, automated external defibrillation (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It includes diverse learning opportunities, including warning signs of cardiovascular emergencies; signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, choking and other medical emergencies. Skills demonstration and per practice sessions are an essential part of the course. The course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in and out of hospital settings or for anyone who is required to take a Healthcare Provider course for employment. It is designated to comply with continuing education requirements of the Minnesota Board of Nursing. Documentation of contact hours including skill demonstration for health care providers is available. Participants receive a Healthcare Provider CPR card upon passing course. | |
